Default I could really use some help

I have a 92 sc400 and here recently I noticed my car sputtering while I was driving like it was not getting any gas. I added some fuel injector cleaner and filled her up and she was going well for a couple of weeks. then it started again but before I could feel her up she died and now I can't get it started> after reading some on this site I thought it might be the fuel ecu so I did the bypass but still not starting. I wish there was a way for me to pull the error codes but I don't. anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

I've read it could be the MAF or quite a few other things, like bad rubber bushings, etc., etc. I had the same kind of problem, too, with sputtering/bucking but it has drastically improved but still get slight bucking/sputtering from time to time; basically not as fluid of acceleration as I'd like. It seems, for me anyway, to do it mostly when the engine/car/etc. is cold(er), though.

okay so after doing some more reading I've discover the obd I testing procedure but when I jumpered TE1 to E1 on dlc2 I didn't get any blinking lights the engine light just stayed on constanly. However I did notice that the rpm gage kept jumping frequently so while it's stilled in test mode I pop the hood and I hear a sizzling sound coming from both distributor caps. so after a little more investigating I discovered a wire that has been rubbing against the fan belt and was grounded out so I seperated the wires and proceeded to do another test. Now no movement from rpm gage no sizzling sound but still no blinking of the engine light it just stays on and car still won't start. so now I'm wondering if the wire shorted out the sensor I'm guessing it goes to the cam position sensor and that 1 o both of them are now no good

well for the obd1 testing, you are not supposed to crank the engine over, you are only supposed to put it in the "on" position.

I didn't start it i just put it in the on position that's how I noticed the rpm gage it should not have been moving at all and for some reason it keep jumping but when I seperated the wires it stopped doing that in the on position

I'm wondering if that somehow damaged the cam sensor or possibly something else
