Default Car wont start.?

Well kinda. got her going from nothing and it seemed like everything was good but since this weekend when i turn the key all i hear is the starter going, and you can barely hear the cyclinders firing. After cranking and giving it gas for 10-20minutes straight it will start up but runs extremely rough, like how it did when my coil was bad but then smooths out, runs and drives like there wasnt a damn thing wrong. You can let the car sit for 10 minutes to an hour and come back and she cranks right up but go back the next day and she refuses to start. When it does eventually get started it burn alot of excess fuel and the tailpipes smoke for a little while.

I only replaced one coil the last time something was wrong but the car would start up just fine and run....im clueless to what the problem could be now.

Any and every insight is greatly appreciated....Thanks!

If the starter is spinning the motor faster than normal, mine did that and it appeared to be the Main ECU connector. Can't swear by it, but having traced out the possibilities and reading what others posted about this problem, solved it by swapping the ECU. Just decided to clean the connection instead of replacing the ECU and it has worked fine since. Many parts in the electrical/computer world are changed due to simple old connections that need to be cleaned.

I also cleaned the igniter connections at the same time, but it makes more sense that the ECU would have been the culprit.

Good Luck,

Tim

perhaps its your fuel pump ecu. try bypassing it. search fuel pump ecu bypass and there is a DIY thread. it is fairly easy to do. alot of people have had this problem before. i think that this will work for you.

I cant tell you guys how much i appreciate it either. JUst broke down today while going on the highway back to work. Had to get towed 40 miles home. Looked it up and first thing i did was the hotwire and even though i had to pay the tow truck, its still good to know that it could have been alot worse than that. The hotwire trick worked like a charm.
