Default Transmission fluid change SC400?

Can someone give me a brief synopsis on how to PROPERLY refill the sc400's tranny fluid? i've done a search and cant find much

Little history, car was parked for years before i bought it...finally got all motor maintenance done and took it for a trip around the loca hood today. The car will shifts and drives fine until about 10mins of driving when the tranny starts to heat up, the gears then feel like they're slipping. I let the car sit and totally cool down and take it for a another spin whilst everything is still cool and she shifts just fine so my determination is that the tranny fluid is degraded after not being driven for 4yrs plus having 168k on it. After the change the worst that could happen is i need a rebuild.

Any insight from you guys plus the instructions on the refill i would appreciate.

Thanks

What year it is ? You can run diaganostics and see what is wrong with your transmission. Some transmission have bad shift solenoids. I know sc300 have that problem not sure about sc400

You want to dropthe oil pan replace the filter and draining oil pan gets 1.6 qt of oil out. Only way to get it all out is to pump old one out and put new one in. I don't think there is easy way to diy fluid change. Someone here lat uyear removed one of cooling lines and run the engine and fill the fluid from top until fresh one was coming out but you can kill your transmition. If your card is 95 and older would be very easy to see if there are any other error codes.

But if you look into manual and repair guide there are two difrent capacity dry more and with fluid lot less. So by draining you get 1.6 quarts of fluid out what about the rest.

putting the car in gear and either holding the brake or the emergency brake will do the job.

i havent changed the fluid yet but over the weekend the tranny has developed a slight whine when in idle and goes away once its in gear. Is the tranny going bad?

is there an upper and lower section to the transmission dipstick tube? seems i missed something last night when i put the oil pan back on. When i tried to fill, all the fluid just came straight out underneath the car so im assuming there was an upper section to the dipstick tube that didnt get mated.
