OK, so I just took off my air intake, throttle body, and plenum. Put in new spark plugs, plug wires, new gaskets, replaced the PCV, cleaned TB and Plenum, re-attached all the hoses and put everything back together. Also changed the coolant and oil.

The car will start; however, it has a loud clicking noise. Similar to a baseball card in bike spokes, but pretty darn loud. The car also feels a bit shaky from the inside, but when looking at the engine it doesn't seem to me moving itself.

We didn't change any timing, but we did put it in TDC using the crank pulley since we mistakenly though that was needed to but the distributor cap back on.

The plugs that I bought were NGK Iridium, made for the SC300 ... stated to be actory gapped correctly, but I didnt check this out. Could this be it?

Any ideas at all as to what could be causing this?

Are you sure you put the wires back on in the correct order?

Could be your TDC check the timing and the spark plugs.

Do the cylinders go from #1-#6 from front to back? I Assumed this was so, but if it isn't, that would definitely be the problem.

you sure all your wires are pushed on nice and tight on the distributor? sounds like a arching sound from a spark arhching somehwere on the engine. either you broke a wire or you didnt plug one in all the way somewhere. from the sounds of the car not running right and ECT, get a watter bottle and put on mist mode and spart the spark plug wires in a dark area and look for a light show

I had a an issue with a plug wire being wedged between the cam cover and the exhaust cam gear. Does the ticking tick faster when you gas it?

Alright, it seems like the spark plug wires were not on tight enough on the disty cap. That has been resolved. Now, another question on a whole other subject - I changed my sway bar bushings and when I went to torque them, one of the bolts broke at the head. Not sure why it did that - but now I have a half a bolt stuck in there and I am not sure it can be driven that way. Any suggestions on what I should do here?

you technicaly could drive it that way, nothing gonna happen but i would get that fixed anyways
