Default Soooo i went and took a look at the 1jz....

I need some opinion on this engine guys. I finally drove all the way to see this 1jz front clip that i wanted, and its in good shape i think. The engine hasnt been started for 6 month, the car is a write off but the the car was not hit in the front, it was fit in the rear. The rad support is still in perfect shape and the car was GARAGED for the past 6 month, no element damage to the engine.

Anyways the engine started right up and was running pretty good, i didnt smell any fume or anything, there wasnt any black/blue smoke, the engine did sound like it was a little rough at first being it is the first start after 6 month, but it was fine within a min, when im there, i didnt notice any oil leak from the valve cover or under the engine.

It looks like everything that was initially in the engine is still there, no mods or anything and the engine has around 50k miles. The owner doesnt know if the timing belt or anything has been changed.

Im looking for someone with a good idea of 1jz, hopefully someone who swapped one in there car to take a look at the video clip that i shoot. I also have a few pictures to show as well.

I like to know by the sound of things, does this look like a healthy engine? What else do i have to look for or ask the seller for?

Thanks for helping out guys.

no mods or anything and the engine has around 50k miles.

i dont beleive that, do a compression test on the motor to check the health. take the valve covers off to see if there is any sludge as well.

6 months....lol. My straight 8 in my Streamliner was driven for 15 years and sat for 45 YEARS and fired up on new fluids.

Gazi is talking about the rush of 1jz's that get sold after high mileage and no oil changes from being imported.

this one was driven around here for a while then crashed, it was licenced and everything, this is not a parts car imported from japan, this is an imported car, sold, driven, then totalled.

going to go and do a compression test on the 1jz... now also thinking about getting a xspower kit for my 2jzge... such a tough choice since i can get a full 1j clip. I only want to make 450hp max on the engines.. but i also want my engine bay to look nice, i think na-t engine bay looks like crap 90% of the time since they have hose running over the engine and all that. Jeez so torn.
