Default Question for the NA-T guys.

Does anyone else have issues where the pipe going to the TB which sits right ABOVE the turbo hotside and gets SUPER hot? I've got a turbo blanket on there and thought it would help with that, but it's not really helping.

It did help with the overall engine bay, now I can touch my battery terminals and not burn my fingers...

I didn't wrap my downpipe or manifold yet, ill be doing that this weekend.

yeah i'd bet the SS header is contributing more heat than the turbine housing honestly.

wrap it or coat it... just remember that wrapping it can trap moisture and cause it to build up surface rust which eventually eats the manifold

Yea that was the whole reason I didn't wrap it, I may just get it coated when I can. I wrapped small portions of it where I had my oil lines and couplers close by.

EDIT: Does that high temp sillicone spray they sell with header wrap work to keep moisture out at all?

I wanted to go front facing, but its more work than I feel like doing at this point. lol. I had an idea, I figure I would cut a custom aluminum heat shield and then line it with some heat wrap, that way I would be able to keep heat isolated at the manifold and not have to worry about ceramic coating, front facing mani's and rusted mani's. We'll see how it works out. I will wrap the DP tho. Im sure it will make a world of difference.

WOW. I added some heat wrap on the first half of the downpipe and after driving around today, it made a HUGE difference.

I didn't do the whole thing... I really didn't want to have to go and pull the down pipe off. Its a pain and a half. I was able to wrap it pretty good where it was though, it just took a little time. I had it soaked in water so it wrapped nice and tight.
