Default Single turbo guys

Quick question... How far you guys travel on your mid to large size single turbo SC's... The bay gets so hot on my 6265 gte with turbo blanket that i can't imagine taking it on a drive for longer then an hour or so... What are your thoughts and experience with this?

You're good bro. Turbos get really hot, it's natural. after an hour of driving if something doesn't melt by then it's not going to. I wouldn't worry too much at all.

I find it gets up to a really hot point and pretty much stays there, never really gets to anything dangerous but the bay is much better with a turbo blanket than without. try wrapping your DP and runners if you haven't done so already.

Mine still has the factory black insulation on the firewall. As of right now, it is still good and holding up well, even when the AC is blowing on low at 72 degrees. I also have a turbo blanket and my DP is also wrapped in DEI wrap.

I run a large frame Turbo 74mm/1.25 rear and I commonly drive 5-6 hrs with no issues.

Coated DP, mani, and turbo blanket.

Driven my 76mm Supra to Charlotte and back in the same day. (4 hours there and 4 hours back home). No problem at all. My manifold, turbine housing, and downpipe are ceramic coated. The downpipe is wrapped and the turbine housing has a blanket also.
