Default wtf is wrong w/ my sc3

for a couple days my battery light has been on, along with my airbag and abs. then yesterday as i was driving my date home my rpms started jumping up n down while my dashboard lights were dimming and eventually turned off, and if i stayed in neutral the rpms would stay at 0. luckily i broke down right in front of her house. i took out the battery and got it charged up, and also replaced the alternator w/ a new one sense it was still under warranty. everything seemed to be working fine until i drive back home and the same symptoms came back. i spotted my friend in his 300zx driving infront of me so i try honking at him so he can follow me if i broke down again but my horn wouldnt work either. then as i was driving the car started jerking and felt like it was out of gas even though i should of had plenty reserve cause the gas light just came on. not wanting my car to die in the middle of the road i pulled into the nearest parking lot w/ the momentum i had left and parked it. i have no idea what could be wrong w/ my car. i had the battery and alternator replaced in December, what else could be wrong?

How many miles on your car and do you have any mods?
When the lights dimmed, were you pressing on the brakes or using your turn signals?
You said you replaced the alternator/battery in December so was everything good until now?
Any leaks frome the distributor?
If anything first try to clean your grounds and terminals since it is free.

the way your car is performing sounds like an electrical problem like ignition coils. When was the last time you did a major tune up including the ignition coils? The rest of your electrical sounds like a short or fuse problem. Too many variables here so you just have to check.

bogging could also be a MAF problem.

the car has got 120k which is pretty good for a 93". i noticed my distributer is leaking something thats dripping on my alternator, thats way i replaced it..again. i dont have any modes other then a stage 1 clutch. all fuses under the hood look fine. im thinking maybe i didnt connect something right when i put the new alternator in because the car is draining the battery. i dont know much about my cars past and service records because i got it last year. but the distributer wires look oem so i dont think they have ever been replaced.

Ah thanks for the info. The distributor o-ring probably needs to be replaced as oil is dropping on your alternator causing it to malfunction. Replace the o-ring before you lose another alternator.

I know it sounds dumb - but make sure you connected your alternator plug properly as well as your grounds...
