Default Thoughts on the auto shift lever

My wife hates it. She thinks it looks too much like a phallic symbol.
Sorry to put visuals in your mind next time you reach over to put it in drive

I hadn't thought of it as a phallic symbol, but I thought it was ugly/dorky looking.

What do you guys think?

The gated shifter from the newer models seems to get rid of this problem. I need to search on a thread discussing the conversion process.

Just a heads up on the gates shifter conversion... it is NOT an easy process and requires quite a large number of hidden parts, processes and costs to get working correctly. Including but not limited to custom work for the handle mounted button that you will loose in the process. If your considering doing this job search A LOT first and be well prepared both mentally and materially before you start.

If you don't have time or money for the gated shifter, you can always get the Levoc Shift ****. Still looks a little phallic to me... but hey Americans eat over 20 billion wieners (hot dogs) a year... We're around phallic things everyday.
