Default How about power-mods for a NA SC300?

Most here seem to go the Turbo route on the SC300, but has anyone massaged the 2Jze with headers, high flow CAT and exhaust, modified MAF and engine management, Camshaft profiles, ported cylinder head, etc.?

I just bought this mint '92 DPW 5-speed that needs more power. BUT--- I live in a very restrictive area with regard to Emissions standards that includes a very complete physical inspection. I may have to forego forced-induction and build power the "old fashioned" way.

I'd like to get to 275-285 crank horsepower, and then fit a Supra LSD.

Any ideas?

Before I went NA-T I had a combo Injen/BFI intake setup, catback exhaust, e-fans with full Unorthodox pulleys, a few other little things, Centerforce clutch, and a good street tune on an SAFC/AEM UEGO combo. The car was definitely peppy.

I'd imagine that if I had put my built head on and got some XERD headers the car would've at least been knocking on the door of 13's, if not well into it. As it sat I was able to pull on a car that had been 14.5's at the track, though I know that's not a definite indication of what a car would run.

Here is a pretty long read from the Aussie Supraforums: http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/...ad.php?t=18917

Spray the crap out of it.

Everything else is little return for your dollar.

Buck for buck turbo can't be touched, that's why everyone does it.
