Strange chatter sound when accelerating??
Hey Guys,
In my SC4, when I accelerate from a stop, I hear a strange chatter/gargling sound from up front. Not sure if its the transmission, or the engine. It drives fine, shifts good. But I have that strange sound. Anyone else experiencing this??

does it only do it a little bit or is it constant through the acceleration??my car does something like this when in the low rpm with a load. i.e. accelerating out of a turn in second gear. not fast, just around town and stuff. but mine is a five speed.

Check your motor mounts and transmission mounts. I had the same problem on a previous car I owned. When I accelerated, it gargled and sounded like something was just loose and started to vibrate as I stepped on the gas. Long behold, I saw my driver side motor mount was torn up.
Check to see if this is the problem and get it fixed right away, otherwise it will put stress on the other motor mount(s). Hope this helps.

Ok, I'll check those. Also, I want tot tell you guys it seems to happen after I'm driving for a while. Like when everything gets warmed up. It really is like a weird gargling sound. Could it be the tranny fluid? I checked the fluid and it looked to be semi red still. Maybe I'll get it flushed at the lexus dealer? Or should I just drain and re-fill it?
