i just finish my rubo install and the used PT61 turbo make a very noticable whistling noise kinda. A lot faster spool than my T61 which is understandable but what exactly does a bad turbo sound like (heard supposed to sound like a supercharger when going bad)? Anyone got a sound clip of a bad turbo?

well a dead turbo doesnt sound good.. thats all i know hah

imho, what you've got it the very earliest sounds of the beginning of what utimately becomes the full on howl of the death whine. You are describing the onset. One or more of the impellers are just barely beginning to make contact. That is exactly what my number 2 did and it sounds like a whistle not a howl.

With the turbo pulled you could see faint contact line, unmistakeable for contact.
