sc400 A/C Help needed
ok so i bought my 93 sc400 about a month ago and friday morning when i went out to the car the A/C wasn't working. it was blowing ICE COLD the night before now nothing. so i popped my hood and the compressor isn't engaging so i figured that for so reason i blew a fuse since it was working the day before and it has been blowing at a consistant temp since i got the car so i don't think it is the pressure switch. Here is my problem i don't know what fuse is for the A/C, i live in arizona and it is getting really hot so i need some help with this one

Retrofit + Lexus dealer = Bring the Vasoline--
If you determine that it's just a fuse, which I hope it is, that's an easy fix, but if not, read on--
If your system is R134a, just buy some at the store and charge it yourself, if it leaks out fast, get it repaired or repair the leak yourself-- ackits.com is a great place to buy parts cheaper than anywhere I've found and the guys there are very knowledgeable--
If your system is R12 --
Get an A/C guy to get some 406a for you -- that way you can put it in right on top of the R12 with no problems, and add some leak dye to track down the leak so he can help you fix it--
406a is also called "autofrost" -- DO NOT use freeze12 -- use 406a -- It is the only one that will work flawlessly when added to R12 already in the system-
This stuff cost about what R134 costs-- about $4 a can, instead of $25 a can-- BUT-- 406a gets MUCH colder than R134 (the new stuff) -- and a little colder than R12 (the old stuff)
PLUS-- 406a will not harm the environment like R12 will--
Check around until you can find a guy that will purchase it online for you-- some will try to sell you what they have, or try to convince you to retrofit, but please understand that retrofits are a money making scheme designed to target the consumer's wallet--
406a will perform the job perfectly for a very long time when your system is leak-tested and all the leaks are repaired successfully-- If you can even get it to where it takes over a year to leak down a full can's worth, it's worth just retaining the original system as it gets so much colder and 406a is the very cheapest way out in the long run as you retain all original components with very minimal work to perform the job--
