Default Short Shifter?

Hey guys,

Just wondering what type of linkage I have in my 95' 5 spd. sc300. Is it the direct linkage type like in the Mk3 Supra's R154 or does it have linkages like the V160 Mk4 supra?

I retrofitted a lexus IS300 B&M shifter into my direct (drop in) R154 last year. I feel i can do the same for the W58?

C's is not in business anylonger. Their shifters are incredibly hard to find, nonetheless insanely expensive.

I have the 3 service manuals at home, I guess I will give them a peak. I thought I would ask while I was on a computer at work.

If I do a retrofit, I will post up a "how to do" just like I did on Supramania.com with the B&M.

If it works, it will give all of us 5 speed owners a cheaper and more readily available alternative than waiting months over ebay and having to pay a large premium.

In the service manaul it looks as though the W58 in the SC's use the same type linkage as a Mk4 Supra.

I think a Mk4 short shifter might work. Nobody has posted on here about it, I sifted through 10 pages in the search area.

I will take out my center console this week and double check.

TRD also makes a short shifter too. I know they do 96's they should do 95's aswell.

Perfect!

I guess I will hunt around for a Mk4 N/A shifter then. My car is a 95'.

MVP somehow got C's shifters back into production?

Either way, there it is for a whopping $361+shipping.

The TRD one is right below it. $295.

The ebay ones seem to have just as good quality though.

The IS300 B&M has a different linkage on the bottom, its just a polyurethane bushing whereas the N/A supra W58 has an actual linkage piece that must be bolted to the linkage.

As for right now, it looks like I could not retrofit the B&M sadly, but I doubt the other brands would feel any better or worse.

I will double check on the linkage in my service manual, but I am positive its just like the Supra's.
