1jz/w58/auto harness reverse lights?
I got my swap done, but when I put into reverse, my reverse lights dont come on. I have a 1jz/auto ecu mated to a w58 from my stock 5 speed car. Any ideas?

I jsut plugged in the speed sensor and the the other plug. Do you have to do anything to the neutral safety start switch wires? Checked the fuses and all are good? Any ideas????

I have the same problem and don't know how to fix it.
I've got an Auto 1JZ, but a 5speed car so the plugs don't match up.
The way the auto and the 5speed turn on the reverse lights is a bit different.
Luckily for me, reverse lights are _not_ required in Texas for our safety inspection.
If anyone knows a quick fix for this, I'd love to hear it.

Can't you just figure out the pinouts and then make a jump wire to bridge the two plugs? I mean if you've done the swap, then doing a few things with the multimeter shouldn't be a scary proposition

The power setup for the backup light is pretty simple... nothing goes through the ECU.... If you have the manual transmission, then there is just the 2-wire plug coming into it. Pin 1 of the plug should be a red/black wire... this is the one that goes directly to the reverse lights (well, through connector IK1 pin 11 in the right passenger kick panel area (an orange connector).
Pin 2 is the power source, which you can take from any switched source, if you can't find the correct source. According to the Lexus wiring diagram, the correct power source would be the yellow wire from pin 10 of connector IJ1 (also in the passenger footwell.
If this is complicated enough... the Lexus side-wall connector IK1 pin 11 as mentioned above cross-references to Pin 36 of the Supra 38-pin orange II1 connector (the wire there also should be red/black)
Hope this helps
