Serpentine Belt Slipping
I have 1992 SC300, the serpentine belt is slipping off the belt tensioner pulley. Is this a symptom of a bad serpentine belt or the belt tensioner? Any help would be greatly because my car is currently stuck in a parking lot.
Thank you in advance,
Jason

Insure all the belt pulleys are in good shape and not loose on it's shaft, including the crankshaft damper.
A worn belt could be your cause, along with worn bearings in the idler pulley.
Insure the belt is running true, flat and straight from pulley to pulley.

Tow the thing to a shop and get it looked at. If you don't know what you're doing having that thing pop or slip off on the highway means, no power steering, no alternator. Its not a good day when you suddenly have no steering. PAY it safe.

How does the belt look? If it looks to be in good shape, you can pick up a tensioner at you local auto parts store and swap it out. Its a pretty easy job. You will have to remove a couple things but it should be very simple. If its possible, i would change both the tensioner and the blet since they work together. It should be a fairly easy and cheap fix. Let us know how it works out.
Use this to check your belt.
Heres how to remove the tensioner.

After taking off the serpentine belt, I noticed that the crank pulley was very loose. Turns out the crank pulley has separated from the hub. So, at this moment I'm searching ClubLexus to find out what to do, and figure out which crank pulley to purchase (Boostlogic or OEM).
Thanks again,
Jason

Thats a common problem. I had that happen to me in my pervious sc300. You can pick up a used oem one for fairly cheap. The BL one is nice if your willing to spend the money. I have a good condition spare OEM pulley that i'll let go for fairly cheap. Shoot me a PM if your intresetd.
