Default Stalling issue

I've been having a problem with stalling lately. When I made a quick left turn I noticed my steering got hard (no power steering) and realized I had stalled. Then when I was in reverse, I hit my brakes while still in reverse, to talk to someone, then as I applied a bit gas - I ended up stalling. I put it back in Park and re-started the car. I don't know what could be wrong. However, I noticed that when I come to a complete stop, my RPM is right above the "0" so that's like 100-200 RPM!? Shouldn't it be idling around 1K?
