nitrous on a 1jz
hey guys i just bought a NX wet shot to mess around with and i figured id throw it on the soarer. im going to spray a 75 wet shot and see how it turns out. ill also try to throw a wide band on and see how the motor takes a 75 as far as needing colder plugs or having to retard timing or add fuel. car is pretty much bone stock just a boost controller pushing 13-14 psi, no pressure regulator or anything. i dont see many guys with 1jz's spraying on them here on club lexus so i will let you all know how it goes. ill try to make it out to the track and maybe get it on the dyno.

You will not need any mods for a 75 nos shot, no retarding the timing at high rpm's, although nos cooler running spark plugs are a good idea...but nothing more, you will not even need a walbro high volume electric fuel pump with a 75hp nos shot... Just slap it on... At a 100hp or higher shot it is a good idea to run the A/F ratio a little rich, and you will need a more powerful fuel pump...Good luck.

yea...no need to retard timing...it's good to go...plugs.....it'll be good for cooler plugs..but if you are only doing it once or twice....no point of wasting $7+ per plug .....no need for extra additional fuel...wet kit with small jetting is safe with stock fuel system...
btw...why nitrous a turbo car...just turn up the boost....unless your turbo isn't eficient anymore beyond the PSI you are running..there's really no point of nitrous..IMO..

nitrous on a 1jz with stock twins is the best idea ever for someone that doesnt want to upgrade turbos. We can only run 18-20psi very limited to get into the 12s. Or run 14psi and a 75 shot all day long and run faster.

i sure hope he isnt the first person you've ever talked to or seen run nitrous on a 1JZGTE. The results are not a mystery. Just dont overboost and spit turbine blades out the muffler.
..or blow the transmission. 75 shot is pushing the limits of the auto.
