Default Replacing Soarer ceramic tubos with Starlet steel ones.

Does anyone know about this? It would probably cost more then a decent single setup, but hey.. for some reason 1j ppl like twins and 300rwhp.

With those swapped turbos youll still be limited to 400-450rwhp. Maybe good for some people, but i personally like to run faster then 12's when i take the effort to swap turbos on a car.

If guess if your stockers are done, or u want more then 350rwhp but not more then mid 400s and dont want a single hairdryer........ i guess it could work

there's a shop in souther japan link @ bottom of my post... that sells theses to you specs.. they are good for 500-600 hp w/ stock intake setup... they cost 1200 each tho.... I'm not sure if u can use stock manifolds either... so 2400 + 1000 for manifolds 3400... thas not too bad... a single kit cost around there or more if im not mistaken (new)

i want to do this setup but cant really afford it...
www.turboshopm.com

but i like the idea of someone popping my hood and seeing the stock intake setup, but then whippin there butt w/ 500hp at the tap haha

wow what a first post

Anybody know of a company that does this in the states? If they are good for that much Hp than I dont think that is such a bad deal...But it would be sick if it was accomplished on stock manifolds.

Just get the originals hi-flowed and fitted with steel turbine wheels. I had this done on my old Soarer and the turbos were said to be able to hold up to 25psi

The Starlet compressor wheels are apparently that tiny bit too small for the CT12A housings so I'd just get the originals hi-flowed My car was virtually stock (cat. back 3" exhaust, A'PEXi Power Intake and Blitz blow off valve) and it pulled 160rwkw with the new turbos. It will be a bit more laggy but not enough to be excessive and annoying.

160kw? thats around 220rwhp. I did 265rwhp (around 200kw) on stock boost on stock turbos, hot air intake lol, open downpipe, leaking stock BOV, stock smic, and ex cam retarded. I feel confidant with my 3in DP, new BOV, and 10psi boost i can get real close to 300rwhp. On 16psi, mid 300s.

Here is the site that has the link to three pdf files all about how to replace them. The differences between the ct12a's and the ones off the starlet.

i dont know of a shop in the states that does this but you could ask any shop who rebuilds turbos... im sure they could port the housings... not sure about fitting bigger/or steel wheels tho... but yea i agree... when u look @ the price for the two turbines + manifolds its only like 3500 (+shipping) i think the greddy kit and others cost over 4k.... and its sleeper when u look under the engine bay + all that power w/ stock-ISH spool... they also offer a full turbo kit on the sites that includes the fuel system and tuned ecu... but thats like 5k... but again, compare that to other kits that dont come w/ an ecu or fuel system its still a great deal. all u have to provide is the manifolds and an fmic (the turbo's will fit on the stock manifolds-now if the stock manifolds will be able to handle the extra power/exhaust heat... i dont know)

Good for you.

Mine had a 3" cat. back exhaust with stock dumps and down pipe, stock SMIC, untuned running crazy rich **** AF ratios, stock cam settings, humid day and needed a service

VCRJ51, you seem to poll the Aussie sites a lot and plagiarise freely. How has it escaped your attention that your stateside dynos read *way* higher than Australian ones ?

There is *nobody* in Australia running a 1JZ with stock twins and allegedly "stock boost" (which is a term so wildly variable as to be meaningless, but from the sounds of it you mean 8psi ?) who has made 200rwkW. Likewise, nobody here is making 225rwkW on 10psi boost with stock turbos. I have 240rwkW on 11psi, but that's with turbos that are quite different, a reasonably mapped PowerFC, true twin exhaust, etc etc etc ...

Just for your education - a completely *stock* JZZ30 Soarer here dynos around 130rwkW. Before you mouth off about Jose's (Soarer_25GTTs) figures compared to yours, grow some perspective ...
