have 2k to spend for a winter project, need suggestions
i have 2k to spend for a winter project, deciding on a 1jz soarer swap or na-t the stock ge motor (i have a spare ge motor lying around). or possibly a few more pennies for a 2jzgte swap. i really want to stay in the 2k range. my car is a 92 sc3 auto right this moment. is it possible to get the 1jz soarer front clip in a 5-speed?? what would you guys do?? thanks in advance

if you can do the motor swap yourself (aka FREE LABOR) and know how to work out all the bugs, then it's a good idea. You can go NA-T for $1,500 in parts though.several have done it.

free labor
my buddy has a shop and can lend me a hand in doing the swap. any bay area importers that carry the soarer front clip?? i called venus but they have it on hold for somebody already...so i did some searching and it seems like its like a needle in a haystack to find a 5-speed soarer front clip. how much more would a 5-speed clip cost compared to the auto one??

Personally if I had $2000, I would spend it on rims and lowering the car

So that is out of the question, unless you get axiis, anything made from hp, or stern, etc...
for $2000 Go get your car fully maintained, with the leftover money...............
................somebody take over, I gotta go back to work.

I have about $1800 invested so far in my 1jz swap, 300 of that into extending the harness, if u do it yourself u can save some $$$. You can easily do a stock 1J swap for under 2k.

Save it for a girl who'll keep you warm this winter. Gas prices are gonna be jacked up. Venus' website says they have a few 1jz's but its almost never updated when I check. How much were they asking for the clip?

i paid 1200 shipped for my motor swap (no need for a clip, clips are just wasted space and money). $300 for harness extension, and 100 or so for throttle cable and electric fan (oem ford). Its very easy to install yourself with a motor hoist and a buddy to help drop it in (and take old motor out).
