lean air mixture
Anybody have problems with fuel filters or EGR valves?
I have a `92 SC 400... apparently the traction light came on along with the check engine light recently while i was driving on the freeway....
now, my brake lights aren`t working, i have to hold the shift overide button to shift n offcourse, the traction`s off... i hooked up the scanner n it gave me a 25 code... lean air mixture..
Anybody have problems with fuel filters or EGR valves?... if so, do u know if the fuel filter is horizontal to the body or vertical??
thanks

The fuel filter is horizontal and located just forward of the rear tire, driver's side.
There are many threads on the procedure for replacing it (it's a dirty job)- here's the results of a search of the SC300/400 forum using the key words "fuel filter replace*" :

what new billet aluminum filters?
The only K&N filters I found today on their web page:
http://www.knfilters.com/fuelfilter.htm
...are only suitable for non-pressurized applications, like back when cars had carburetors. Our cars have pressurized fuel lines, so mounting it "anywhere you want too" would involve fabricating high-pressure fittings- far more trouble than it's worth.

Stock filter is, what.....30 bucks or so?
Yeah, lots of mentions on the internet of the K&N billet filter, except on the K&N site itself.
And at $78.17, our friend 2kaotik won't have much left for the other mods he is saving for.
Like I said, far more trouble than it's worth.

I got the fuel filter replaced already and checked out the EGR valve... none of them had a problem with them so i`m guessin its the O2 sensors... but instead`o`just guessing.. i`ve given the car for a diagnostic test while i get the timing belt and the water pump replaced...
i dont know how much of a difference a billet filter wud`ve made but i got the fuel filter from auto zone for $18.99 .. the lexus dealer didnt have it in stock so i went to auto zone n got it....
yes PERRYinLA is right... the fuel lines are metal so it wud be alot of hassle mounting it wherever u want... n i dont see the need of doing so anywayZ
i`m savin up for a torque convertor.. injen short ram intake, VIS carbon fiber hood and a front bumper... maybe hearders... but later down the road....
any other suggestions??
