Car: 1994 SC300 w/ 2JZGTE @apu
Plug: NGK 6097 (BKR7E) gapped to .025
Price: $1.79 each in ten pack, RockAuto.com. Buy 20, total w/shipping $44.64

Comments: oem on the Supra engine for a good reason, probably the most widely used plug among 2jzgte owners. However, once you push the boost up it is subject to spark blow out. Started at .030 at 17psi, bad misfire at the top, now at .025 and perfect.

So the members who posted the above three off-topic replies either don't care or didn't read the purpose of this thread. All of your questions are easily searched and they have been answered in the forum.

Price: $50 for all 8

Ok, this will be your time to help form this FAQ and cut down on repetitive questions! Once this thread is fairly complete it will be added to my ever growing list that is soon to be released!

Thanks

Car: 98 SC400 73K miles
Plug: NGK Laser Iridium Premium Part# IFR6T11 Stock# 4589
Price: $6.98 each from Advanced Auto Parts
Comments: I replaced the stock OE plugs with these at about 68K miles since then the car feels great. She pulls nicely all the way to redline, no breakup at all. Nice smooth idle as well. I average 19 mpg with mixed city/highway driving with the new plugs, not bad for a V8. On the old OE plugs I averaged about 17 mpg. I also changed the fuel filter at about the same time, so the gain in mpg might be attributed to it in part. I give the plugs a .

Car: 95 SC400 supercharged, Vortech and about 9-10 psi.
Plug: NGK BKR7e's (6097) gapped to .033
Price: Cheap, less than 2 bucks a plug at the local auto parts store.
Comments: No complaints, I've put my car through some hell and the only time I've ever had any pinging / mis problems was going down an 1/8 mile track on a 95 degree day without an intercooler. Lesson learned, intercooler went back in. I do tend to change them often since they are so cheap and they are subjected to some pretty high stress but most of the time, changing them wasn't needed.

Except for this time. Using too much octane boost can and will damage your plugs. If you don't know what you're looking at, just trust me.

What is the gap you need .32? How difficult is it to change all plugs?

Car: Toyota Soarer 1JZ-GTE
Plug: Denso
Price: $15.85 each, 6plugs for a total of $100.00 CDN
Comments: Can't go wrong with OEM platinum tipped plugs straight from the dealer. The old NGK's I took sucked major!

Car: 1997 SC300 w/ USDM 2JZ-GTE
Plug: NGK 6097 (BKR7E) gapped @ .032
Price: like $3 and some change a piece from NAPA
Comment: Gapped @ .032 b/c running 19psi stock twins. I change mine every 5k or @ every other oil change.

Car: 99 sc300 w/ stock 2JZ-GE
Plug: OEM Denso non-platinum #90919-01176 pre-gapped
Price: I believe they were somewhere around $20
Comment: I choose non platinum b/c they were cheaper and I'm keeping this car stock so the plugs should last a good while. Changed @ 103xxx and car seems smoother with a hair more top end

As a result of searching and this thread I bought the above plugs and just installed them yesterday. Figured I'd give this thread a bump..

Car: 1999 SC400 vvt-i
Plug: NGK Laser Iridium Premium IFRT6T11
Price: $64 for all 8 shipped, from Dax Autoworks (ebay)
Comments: Replaced the old ones which were crappy Autolites which the previous owner had installed. Car runs smoother especially on the highway. Havent noticed a mpg difference yet but thats because I've only had them installed for a day. But so far so good!

So its time for new plugs. On my old stock '99 sc400 I installed the NGK Laser Iridium Premium IFRT6T11 with great results; car ran smooth as silk and mpg was great.
But now that I've sold that SC, and now have a modded '99 sc400 I am curious about these Torque Master sparks that everyone in the GS section is raving about. Multiple members have posted dyno sheets with 5-6 whp gains and smoother idle. I'm expecting the same results on my SC (since its the same engine), but am curious if any SC owners has first hand expierience?

Here's the GS thread; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...ark-plugs.html
