Which SC4 or 3 guys have removed the stock cats?
So the shop says I need 2 new front cats L&R but Im soo low on cash right now. Couldnt I just cut them out. I have read that this may throw the check engine light but I havent seen anything positive. What do you think guys?

The SC300 has one cat underneath the engine and one cat in the mid section of the car.
The SC400 has two cats in the front and one cat in the middle (i believe).
With that said, you could probably remove the two front cats if you have a SC400 if your state has lax emission laws. It might throw some oxygen sensors in wack which might give you a check engine light.
The positives in removing the cats would result in somewhat better airflow and meaner sound. Remove the resonators while your at it.

so if you got rid of them then you did it yourself right? I just talked to the muffler shop where my car was and ofcourse they wont cut them out for me. It still seems wierd to me that both front cats would go out at the same time.....

Go to another exhaust shop. Dont go to a big nationwide place. I got a 3" mid-pipe made yesterday that replaced where the cat used to be (even thought my cat was already gutted before that) no questions asked. I just didnt get a reciept

The car has a severe loss of power. The exhaust gets super hot even on short drives. the exhaust sound is way louder than it should be and I get a nasty rich gas smell. No check engine light. From the tests that the shop performed i was told that the 2 front cats where clogged. I ended up picking up all 3 cats to replace the old ones. I figured I might as well replace the third while Im at it. I will keeep you guys updated.

You should, but in our state at least, the wreckers aren't allowed to sell the cats; there's a racket on "refurbished" cats for a price.
If you could find a private owner parting out their car, that'd be the ticket.
