Default Changing Gearbox Fluid

I was changing my coolant, spark plugs, and transmission fluid today. All went well except for the transmission fluid. I couldn't get that bolt off to fill. Good thing I didn't drain it first.. Anyway.. does anybody have any suggestions? Its the 17mm bolt.. and i'm afraid to strip it. Best thing go to a shop? I sprayed some WD40 on it let it sit for about an hour.. still stuck. My brother recommended that I drive around for a while.. and then get back at it.. Any other ideas? Should I just go to the shop?

do you have room to get a pipe over a socket wrench?

Just give her lots and lots and lots of torque. Shes a strong bolt, shes not gonna snap off or strip

Mine was a real pain to get off. A 17mm shallow socket and ratchet should fit over it in that little space almost exactly. May require a little finagling.... but once on, just slide a pipe over the ratchet and pull, it came off pretty easily when i had that pipe on. Larger radius = more torque .

If you have the room to safely do so, a torch will help loosen the most stubborn bolt.
