Default Got my 96 sc300 Check engine??

I got it at a bargain of 7k because of the check engine the guy had to get 8.5k to break even (for trying to take the light off) he showed me all the reciepts from dealerships and various import specialists which is all legit. Heres why the check engine light is on and reads cyl # 1 and 5 are misfiring even though it's running fine. So far they replaced injectors, gaskets and a few other things what could be the cause of this any suggestions other then a tuneup (i plan on doing it )

Anyways onto what I think of the car: I'm not insured until monday but I took a quick drive and OMG PURE HEAVEN!! After driving my 90 prelude with the 2.1 the torque is spectacular putting you back in the seat (I know it's not a drag racer but its quick to me at least) and the car just grabs like when I hit 2nd gear (yes its a 5 spd ) after redline the thing dosen't chirp just grips and pulls like a rocket ship! This car is the most luxorious i've ever been in with the power telescopic or whatever steering and the memory heated seats!! Everyone thinks I paid like 15k for it too I put a cd in the cd changer and I press cd and it stays on fm radio it is a cd-r and I read about it dosent read cd-rs or something? But anyways i'm glad I got this instead of the 95 m3 I was gunna get

It should read CD-Rs as far as I know. I have a '94 GS300 with the Lexus premuim sound (Pioneer) system and the factory 12 disc changer in the trunk and it reads CR-Rs with no problem. Congrats on the car. I can't help you on the misfiring issue, though.

well, you see, we have this thing called the Engine & Transmission forum... and a Check Engine Light just kinda falls into the engine catagory

You're OBDII so finding out that code shouldn't be too hard at all -- I believe autozone can pull it for free.

Hey Andy,
You might find it usefull to talk to this guy Sam.
Sounds to me like you two are having the exact same problem.
Here's a link to his thread:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...hreadid=140531

He came over to my house and I checked his car out.
His timing is fine, rotor in correct position (#1 cylinder at TDC), and the car is actually running perfectly fine but he gets the CEL and I pulled the codes P0300 & P0304-P0306 if I remember correctly.

PM him for his # if you want.

Good luck.
