Racing Seats -120
Spare & jack -80
CF Hood -38.5
Lightweight battery -20
Aftermarket wheels -20
coilover suspension -10
EGR System -2 (not really worth it, but hey, it cleans up the engine bay)
MKIV Brakes -2.5
BFI Intake -1
Overall weight savings: 294 Lbs
Total: 3198 Lbs
Cost:
Racing Seats: ~$900
Spare Tire & Jack: Free
CF Hood: $500 + S/H
Lightweight Batt: ??
Aftermarket Wheels: $2,000-$3,000 (gram lights are $1,700 tho)
Coilovers: $1,200
MKIV Brakes: $500
EGR System: $50 (for block-off plates)
BFI Intake: Free
brembo's or stoptech brakes would help with some unsprung weight as well.

CF doors I don't think are practical -- kinda like removing the A/C or PS.
I'll try to find out how much we'd loose w/ the CF trunk.
I'd also like to find out how much we'd lose w/ seats. (that'll have to wait for my car situation to sort itself out)

Now that I'm at the power level I want, I'm going to put my car on a diet.
My car weighs 3675 without me in it
I'll be taking out the seats, some other odds and ends to get it to a more track worthy weight

i changed the stock sc400 with heat seats to supra TT seats... both leather... supra seats much lighter.
the CF hood lowers the weight a lot. I think just from the seats and the hood I dropped some 125lbs to 150lbs.. (if anyone's removed the stock seat you know what I mean)

There was some weight saved for sure when replacing my seats with the Corbeau's.
I also have the rear bench removed since I hardly ever have rear seat occupants.
The spare was replaced with a full sized Supra front wheel though(I'm not being stranded anywhere).
Some weight was also saved by going aftermarket exhaust. The Magnaflow mufflers were lighter than the stock units. I also deleted the resonators and misc. stock exhaust parts.
The TT brakes out front didn't save weight(Maybe a few pounds), but it helps in braking
I'm going see how much of a difference I notice when I get the CF hood/trunk and new Suspension.
Whatever I save in weight, I will make up for the power I don't have added...LoL

if we could get the weight on stock seats (both heated & non) that'd be great.
also, I'd like to find out if the rear bumper reinforcement (that metal bar) is steel or aluminium. we could potentially save another 20+ lbs with a simple junkyard mod of a front bumper.

the bumper appears to be aluminium.

I also don't leave my spare in the car... I actually notice a very slight improvement in acceleration 0-30 or 0-40 without it. However, on along trip, or during the winter months I simply leave it in.

are there any other mechanics rigged up for the electric seats that can be removed? switching to some sort lightweight manual seats should save a ton of weight. i'd love to see a sub 3200 lb SC
