Default SC 300/400 Transmission options?

I had a couple of questions.

I've been trying to source out a 5 speed SC300 but unfourtinatly, have not found anything yet.
This has forced me to consider other options, such as an SC300 w/ a 4 speed auto - Getrag 6M swap.

I was wondering if anyone has any estimates on cost for parts and labor required with this swap.
I was also wondering, if there were any manual transmission options for the SC400 as well.

Thanks
-Darren

I suggest you keep searching for an SC300 5-speed. It's time consuming and expensive to convert to the getrag tranny. If you are not planning to put down some serious power, its also quite pointless. If you are going the turbo route, the 5 speed to getrag swap is easier. For the SC400, I remember reading about an IS300 with the 1UZ swapped into with a manual tranny, however, it was an extremely hard and expensive task.

well, if you're willing to go through the paper work and legalization of bringing a SC300 over to canada, check out 2kwiq's sc300 he has for sale in illinois.

One of our ALSC members over here recently converted his V8 Soarer (SC400 equivalent) to a 5 speed. Cost was under AU$5500 (around US$3700). From all reports the 5 speed completely transforms the car. Much better performance. Here's a link to the thread with the details:

Maybe it'll help.

The forum's been having some "issues" lately. Apologies. Try it a bit later and hopefully it'll be OK. I just tried the link now and it worked OK for me.
