Default S-AFC questions.

I have dynoed my car with stock exhaust and brought it down to -10% after 3000rpm to bring the A/F ratio to about 12:1.

Now i have exhaust and it seems to miss up top. I don't think it's detonation because it gets worse if I add fuel to it. Could it be something else?

THanks

Which S-AFC do you have? The simple one or one of the more recent ones (blue screen type)? It's been discussed in the ALSC that the Soarer TT runs rich (the majority of the richness) in the midrange of the revband... is this the problem?

blue screen one...

Seems then that is ok. I was worried because -10% is quite alot. I took out about 10% from 3500rpm all the way up to 7500rpm.

Thanks for you input.

Default Timing

Does the SAFC offer adjustments to timing as well? What ab out shift points on the auto tranny. I'd like to raise my shift points - so if there is a thing out there that does that, kindly let me know.

Frankinaustin,
The S-AFC is a fuel controller. To control ign. timing you'd need at the very least an A'PEXi ITC (Ignition Timing Controller/Converter), which is a piggy-back ECU, or go the whole hog and replace the factory ECU with an aftermarket one (e.g. Motec, A'PEXi PowerFC, HKS F-Con V etc.). Also, on the topic of changing the shift points, if you're just looking to raise the shift point flick the ECT switch into Power mode , but if you're interested in quicker shifts for the auto box have a read of this...

Planetsoarer.com - Shift kit & transmission cooler info

Hope that helps you.
