Motor & Trans mounts
I read on another forum about our cars, 92SC400
have bad engine mounts and transmission mounts that breaqk after a while. This leaves the engine just sitting in the car which of course is bad.
Is this a soarer problem that was fixed with lexus ( don't think so ).
Or has anyone had these replaced and know how much?
I used to live in Australia so I can have family send them to me if they are a lot cheaper there, what about labor.
If they are cheaper there then I'm sure another fellow aussie member will know the price.
If you guys need em and they end up cheaper then I will get my family to ship a bunch of em.

i pulled my motor a few weeks ago, and found that one of my stock engine mounts was broken.
I opted for the upgraded TRD supra mounts for the 93.5-96 supra. They are supposed to be real heavy duty mounts. One thing about these mounts is that the brackets on the SC is longer than the 93.5-96 supra bracket, Thus it will push the engine about 2 inchs too high. So i had to buy the brackets too along with the TRD mounts. But I got a good deal from Elmhurst Toyota.
So i guess to answer your question, Yes the SC/soarers both have bad engine mounts. (my motor was stock and they broke, could be it was too old, 12 years) I cant say about the tranny mounts. Someone else should be able to share that info.

I remember reading a post about this exact topic on the ALSC forums, I'll see if I can find the post for you, but yeah the mounts can go after a while since the cars are ever slowly aging... I just found out today that my gearbox mount is pretty much a heap of crap so I'm going to replace it soon...

Those pics on that first thread look like the mounts for the SC300 and I need the ones for the SC400.
That second thread is the one that I initially read. As my car is a 92 and has 210000 miles on it I would like to replace these, but would like to know how hard it is to do.
