Default Anyone Pay More Than MSRP?

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum but have been following the NX very closely since it was announced/released.

I was just wondering has anyone paid or been quoted a price above the Canadian website MSRP? My local dealership quoted a price that was ~$1,000.00 more than the MSRP.

Thanks in advance.

I wonder if the price you were quoted includes some of the extra charges, tire tax, air tax, nitrogen, pdi ?

Lexus Canada does not let dealers sell at above msrp, however, they are free to add value added "options" and stick to their guns on having a customer pay for them. Regionally, Lexus lets local dealers set their own "advertising" package that is now allowed as "MAP" under Industry Canada's competition act. As long as msrp is clearly disclosed and aligned with Lexus.ca all other optional fees, value add and dealer options are geared to allow a dealer to maximize their return for low supply situation. They do loose some of that on the RX/IS so it balances out at month end.

Probably impossible to get it for above MSRP. I was able to get $3800 off MSRP here in Edmonton.

Definitely do not pay more then MSRP, I was also able to negotiate $3700 off the MSRP price of our F-Sport Series 1 model here in Calgary. I would suggest shopping around at a few dealerships and comparing their discounts.

If you have to pay over MSRP for a production vehicle, it's probably not worth it. Even in tight supply situations that's not a good deal.

Hmm, my dealer has me on the hook because I’m special ordering my NX with a deposit. Any tips as to how you guys managed to get up to $3,800 off of MSRP? I’m terrible @ negotiating.

it may depend on where you are.

Those guys are up in Canada. Folks in NY are getting price off MSRP.

When I purchased mine, I paid MSRP, but had them throw in body side moldings, mud guards, running boards, and rear bumper protector. I think now, I could get that as well as a little off MSRP, or without and more off MSRP.

I wonder if telling the dealer I’ll pay something between list price and MSRP like 50% to split the difference would be reasonable.
