Default Power Back Door Issues

When the car is turned off and I push the liftgate button (yes I'm holding it down for up to 3 secs) I hear one beep and nothing happens. The door doesn't open. I have to either restart the car or use the remote switch....

I read the manual and it doesn't reference whether the car has to be turned on or not. I would think we should be able to 'pop the trunk' at any point (aside from being in a drive mode). Am I missing something here?

There is a setting that you can set it to not open up, it is kind of a safety measure in case you know you can't open the rear door and it essentially turns it in to a manual operation door.

Read the manual for that setting and then check it.

I can open my without power on at any time with that button, though I will say I haven't tried it without the FOB on me.

Thanks for the tip...I may have accidentally turned it off while messing around with the other 200 settings.

Yeah, to philwojo's point, it's in the Settings from the dash's 4.2" TFT screen you access with the steering wheel controls. Chances are you disabled the Power Rear Door.

I know that when I pull in the garage and hit the tail gate button it beeps at me and doesn't open. Then I hit the unlock doors button, and then I hit the tailgate button again and it opens.

Yep, that was it....I guess I turned it off at some point while messing with settings. But it works like it should now.

haha, that's a good thing! In some situations the manual hatch is "safer" to operate and more convenient in tight spots.

The moment you place the car in Park though, your doors should auto-unlock allowing the rear door to be opened via the dash button.

Don't be jealous VIpVip my car is also coming without the power lift gate. I don't imagine the trunk hatch to be that heavy.

I remember reading that the manual hatch door is made of aluminum to keep it light.
