Where/how to run a 12v wire for a radar detector
Anyone know where or how to run a 12v wire for a radar detector on this car yet by hiding it behind the dash somehow? Anyone have any information on how to get the dash or anything off? I know the car is very new so probably no information out there yet, but thought I would ask as we are hoping to take delivery of a 300h on Friday and I would like to do this at some point for my wife, since it is her car.
I have the 12v kit for the radar detector and everything I need for that part, just need to know how to get it hidden behind the dash and hide that pesky power wire.
Thanks,
Phil

doing same
Will be doing the same but will have tech at Best Buy in Garner, NC do mine as before in my CT200. Cost about $80 and takes about 1 !/2 hour for someone who knows what they are doing. Would not advise you trying yourself.

I've run it on other cars, but I had youtube video's showing how to take the dash off on my other cars. Hoping someone might show this along the way with this one, but as I said I know it is a very new car, not a lot of them out there yet to mess around with, nor a lot of people willing to do that either.

If you are concerned with getting the best performance from your detector regarding radar then you'd want to mount it up high. You should be able to pull power from the sunroof. I'd say pull down the overhead light cluster and look for power there to tap into.
If you're more concerned with lidar then mount near the dash. In my opinion once you are picked up with lidar it's too late to do anything though. I was told that for lidar they first target front mounted license plates, then if those aren't available, the headlights then the windshield. You may get a second of reaction time if your detector is dash mounted and you pick up some scatter from the plate or headlight hit.
I've always mounted my V1's up next to the rearview mirror and used a remote display down near the gauge cluster to keep the main unit from lighting up.

Yea, we have the V1 also, just trying to not have the power wire running down the front of the dash if I can avoid that at all.
I was thinking, since there are some people with the NAV/Infotainment lockup issue and Lexus is replacing the entire head unit that there must be something out there to show how to get that head unit out and replaced. That is kind of what I am looking for. An easy set of directions to remove the head unit so i can get behind it and run my wiring. Anyone know of that information?
thanks,

- The radar powers on (Passport 9500ix blue) however does not pick any signal
Does anyone know if the windshield has radar deflective coating of some sort that could be preventing the signals coming thru to the detector ?

Hello, I bought the blendmount from Escort radars - which comes with the wire (which I found to be a bit short by about an inch) - did the wire-tap install myself on ignition power (Blue wire) and ground (black)
- The radar powers on (Passport 9500ix blue) however does not pick any signal
Does anyone know if the windshield has radar deflective coating of some sort that could be preventing the signals coming thru to the detector ?

Care to share how you ran the cords, have any pics? Would love to see your install and get any tips about how you did it or how you removed any of the dash pieces to run your wiring.
