So my lease is up on my '11 RX and my dealer called me today. I mentioned I wanted something smaller and more fuel efficient and his response was the NX is coming out. I asked him when its coming out and he said November time frame! So I told him get back to me by then and give me a great deal even though its a brand new car.

No price negotiations yet since there is no pricing yet. When we finalize the paperwork on the specific model/equipment/VIN, I won't expect a big rebate but around $2K off, the cost of transport and dealer prep up here in Canada. It's the type of rebate I got (and expect from my same sales rep/dealer) when I signed on my new IS last June before it was even out on the market (in July).

Considering how absolutely dominant the RX was in USA sales, I doubt that level of redesign would have flown.
2013 USA sales:
- 103,920 Lexus RX
- 60,534 Buick Enclave (really?)
- 56,776 Cadillac SRX
- 53, 040 Acura MDX
- 44,750 Acura RDX
- 40,355 Audi Q5
- 39,818 BMW X5
...the rest in these segments are about 30k sales down to 10k
If anything, I'd imagine the RX would bump up in size to compete more directly with the MDX/X5/Q7. Given Acura's success with two models, that would appear to be a safer path than making a big change to the RX.

One thing I'm wondering about is why the apparent drop in engine power on the NX300h as compared with the IS300h as it appears they're the same unit. Yet the IS300h here is Australia makes 164kW which is the equivalent to 220 hp. Based on the specs that are being published, that's at least 20 hp over what the NX300h has. Unless there's been some sort of tuning in the NX for more torque and less power.

I'm pretty sure there's been pics of a panoramic sunroof on the Euro-spec models which means Europe and Asia will likely have it (along with the HUD, wide view camera etc).

I'm going to be pissed if all these options are not available in the US. I'd like to be able to max out an NX, and you'd think it would make sense to give people the ability to add as much as possible to the car. It obviously works for Porsche with their enormous options list and industry leading profit margin. (Yes I know that's not exactly an apples to apples comparison)

With RC and now this Lexus is amplifying aggression as each new model rolls out. Call me crazy but don't you see the new face of facelifted GS in that 3/4 front pic? That headlight cluster is just made to be slapped on GS.

No Mark Levinson, no HUD, and it looks like no parking assist (what? in 2015?).
Key available features (as displayed at NY auto show):
Pre-collision system with dynamic radar cruise control
Lane departure alert
Blind spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert
Navigation (duh - this isn't a 2012 Malibu)
Power 60/40 split rear seats
I hope that "key available features" is certainly not a complete list. No parking assist is a deal breaker for me.
I read somewhere that tire life may be "substantially less than 15,000 miles." Huh? I normally change tires at 60K. I sure hope that's turbo only and not hybrid.
It looks like the RAV4 hybrid (not announced yet but it's coming) will be more luxurious. At least it will have JBL.
