Again, the ES is the entry level car. Sure the CLA may have stitching somewhere but I've sat in the CLA and the interior is AWFUL overall IMHO. I've been a vocal detractor of the new ES' interior, but that stitched dash is very nice...and its much nicer than the CLA.

I don't think there is a nuluxe on the dash of the ES...its literally stitching in the mold, unlike your GS.
The CLA interior is awful. But if you get the leather package which adds the stitching and mbtext to the doors and dash, its a much better experience.

There was on the ES's I drove. Its not padded like it is on the dash of the GS, but there is a leather/nuluxe like material.

its def nuluxe leather dash as lexus explains the process on how they manually do the stiching in the factory... but that does not mean that NX will have the same. It may have it over the instruments only and who knows what else.

The IS has it over the instruments only...entirely possible thats how it will be on the NX. I'm sure the RX will have one like the ES, GS do...

important thing is that it all together feels and looks good.

well, any Lexus interior that doesnt look like LS, is built to the price... but what was saying was that they are putting multimedia (like that trick F-Sport instruments) into their "sporty" cars meant for younger generations while the ones for older get things like leather dash.

ES Stitched dash is real BTW
Someone on here said the interior on the NX would be comparable to an ES350 or the next lower quality level sedan... The RX is very plain, but still nicer than the ES. (Example would be fake plastic stitching on dash to imitate a real stitched dash. )
I was not home when I typed the 8K service number. The service cost on my 2005 RX330 was $8,488 over the 100K miles I owned it. That did not include the cost of tires as the dealership included a free tire for life warranty. Just paid for mounting and balancing of said free tires.
The IS350 service bill is at 10,179.48 and I haven't completed the 120K service yet as the odo is at 119,197. This also includes the same free tires for life warranty. I am not complaining and know there are other cheaper options for service. I am happy with the level of service I get and there is always a loaner car there for me. This is what my is350 needed so far.
5K service free
10K service 180.50
15K service 341.54
20K service 465.33 included mount an balance front tires and alignment
25K service 163.47
30K service 624.00
35K service 181.17
40K service 548.12 included mount and balance front tires and alignment
(warranty replaced front wheel bearings)
45K service 433.53
50K service 173.54
55K service 192.66
60K service 1,769.32 included brake pads flush brake fluid, mount and balance 4 tires and alignment
65K service 279.06
70K service 407.21 included new battery and spark plugs ( I know I got a deal due to the valve spring recall being done at the same time so plug install was free)
75K service 439.88
80K service 244.27 fuel injector throttle body cleaning
85K service 170.11
90K service 1,877.30 included complete brake job rotors and pads plus fluid flush. mount and balance 4 tires and alignment. warranty replacement of wheel hubs and cam gears
95K service 171.15
100K service 357.88 included new hid headlight bulb
105K service 454.78 included other hid headlight bulb
110K service 163.27
115K service 541.56 included spark plugs, pcv valve, rear diff service. These were done before the 120K service due to the dealership completing the Cam gear recall. These other services were discounted due to the recall.
There you have it... $10K spent in the service department not including 5 sets of front tires and 2 sets of rear tires. If we are comparing 40K miles for service I have about $2,600 spent by that point. Again, I am very happy with my dealership and would recommend them to all my friends and family.

The 2014 and higher IS350 increases the 0W-20 synthetic oil change interval to 10K with a "light" service on the fives so your cost projections would change.
BMW's free service is of course covered in the price of the car. Once out of warranty they ramp up considerably in ownership costs. The brakes are covered while the tires are on you which I feel is fair.
The NX fills an unserved market niche for Lexus and by offering another hybrid is offsetting some of the costs of an SUV. It could become a volume model for Lexus like the RX and ES models.
The small crossover segment is booming and Lexus should be represented as BMW, Audi and others are enjoying increased market share.
When someone owns a Toyota they don't get a Lexus loaner or other amenities like longer warranties.
I know a lot of this is self evident but worth mentioning.

but in general, I think GS and LS have interiors that are not visibly limited by the price... anything under that is pretty obvious.
