Warning Message and Hood Release
Have a week old 2016 NX 200t in Toronto (Canada) and was on the highway when a warning came on that hood released. Had to pull over to shut the hood. Good thing it has that secondary hook to prevent it from flying right up. Haven't opened the hood since the dealership. Taking it in to a quick check. Has anyone heard of this happening with the NX? Tried searching online for NX hood issues but seems to be nothing reported.
Thanks,
Thanks,

it could be one of three things:
- The last person that was under your hood didn't close it properly
- The primary latch is not working properly
- Someone inadvertently released the hood latch

Thanks for the input. I will update this post after the appointment in the morning at the dealership. I was driving when this happened and it was near the end of a 2+ hour highway drive at 'normal' speeds. I certainly didn't pull the hood release so its either a faulty piece of equipment or it wasn't closed properly. More to come....

Update: Well, nothing wrong as far as Lexus can see. It just must have not been closed fully. Strange it happened after a week with highway driving, and not being opened.

This just happened to me too!
This just happened to me this past weekend. I've owned my 2015 NX200T just a few weeks shy of a year. I was driving on the freeway when the warning/alarm went off notifying me that the hood was unlocked. I exited safely and was able to close. I had my first oil change service maybe a month or so ago. I'm thinking they did not close it properly.
