The motoring press almost universally identifies the Lexus NX as a "Luxury Compact SUV". A car that usually/typically sells in the 40s (some into the 50s) is hardly 'economy'.

Sorry didn't mean to offend anyone.
I wasn't really looking at the price of the car to determine. The car in my opinion is entry level luxury SUV for the features it offers/doesn't offer (no premium sound system, no rain sensing wiper(f-sport), HUD, 2.0 4-banger engine, etc.).... Thats besides the point...

I don't know why in the US the don't have that. otherwise the car is much cheaper in the US.

It's hard for me to think of my NX as an "economy SUV", especially considering other options in the "economy" class as typically defined by automotive experts. In my world, economy means cost savings, often at the expense of quality materials, reduced production quality, and maybe reliability. Economy brands too, can be loaded up with accessories and options. You may even be able to get rain sensing wipers and upgrade the sound systems on some economy SUVs, but they really aren't in the same class, are they? The materials in my car are WAY above average, the paint is much higher quality, and the attention to detail in the passenger compartment hardly qualifies as cost cutting. These (in my humble opinion) are the reasons to buy an NX, along with long term reliability and resale value. The NX is just a VERY nice, very comfortable daily driver. It's no race car, but isn't intended to be. In any event, it's hardly an "economy " car by commonly accepted definition.
I love the country of Germany (especially the beer!), and they build some incredible cars. Engineering is a clear strength, but the fact that they cost a lot more doesn't make everything else and economy car.
