NX Owner Survey - Excessive Wind Noise?
From Day 1, I noticed some wind buffeting noise around the driver's side window at 40+ mph. Same on the passenger side.
Other owners have mentioned this same characteristic with their NX over various posts. Let's vote/comment and see how common this is.
For the record, other Lexus vehicles owned (including my current IS and past CT) did not exhibit this wind noise. Second, the 2010 3RX had a similar wind characteristic as the NX seems to have and a TSB was eventually issued to replace the side front glass to the more sound-proofed laminated glass over the more standard temperlite.

I have also noticed the wind noise at high speeds. If you place your hand over the window control buttons you can even feel wind coming into the cabin, especially when cold.

I voted "no excessive wind noise". I listened carefully today while on the freeway, there is a slight wind noise. My other car is a convertible so a slight wind noise doesn't bother me at all.

So I went in for servicing and they compared it with another NX F Sport and similar wind buffeting. In short, nothing out of the ordinary and no TSBs for this in the system. They did however report this to the tech department at Lexus Corp at least to create visibility.

I did a test the other day in making the small window flush and it did appear to produce less wind buffeting noise. I even took a video but after playback road noise was more prevalent than the subtleties of the wind noise. I'll see if I can get a hold of a more sensitive recording device.
Is this a good thing? A new Lexus as quiet as an old Murano or Maxima?

To be fair comparing the NVH of a Lexus to a main stream brand, the Lexus will most likely be better. However, when comparing the NVH of this model (NX 200t) to another luxury brands... there is some wind noise.
My NX F Sport does have noticeable wind noise at highway speeds when compared to my previous car... A 2014 Acura RDX.

Interesting, next time i'm on the freeway, I'll test my NX to see if this happens. I think I would need to make sure the side AC vents are closed as well. Maybe the doors are lacking adequate insulation?

I took a road trip over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and while on the freeway at 80 mph (129 km/h), I noticed no abnormal noise (wind or otherwise).
