Video: Lane Departure Alert (LDA) aka Lane Keep Assist (LKA)
There have been some questions regarding how LDA (aka LKA) works, most common ones being:
1. Does the system just sound an alarm if you're veering off the lane?
2. Any corrective steering automatically engaged by the NX?
We took this video to answer these two fundamental questions, and the news is good.

The LKA (Lane Keeping Assist) that you have in NX definitely is an improved version of LDA (Lane Departure Alert) in 2014 IS.
I have LDA in my IS and it only beeps you when a drift is detected without any corrective action. I sometimes keep it on as a way to be aware if I cross a lane unintentionally and slightly while avoiding some potholes and affecting the drivers around me.
And it seems the tone of the alarm in LKA is improved. It doesn't sound as annoying (relatively) as the one in LDA.

Yes, there are so many gadgets and settings on the NX that I sometimes find myself totally distracted not watching the road at all and the car steers me back into my lane. Next time out I'll turn on the cruise, bring a book and read.

I thought my NX came with LDA/LKA but I'm not sure if that's true. Is there a button that turns the feature on/off (similar to parking sensors and other safety features)??
Thanks.
Thanks.

I am trying to disable the Lane Departure Alert as in everyday commute during rush hour I find it to be a bit intrusive. At times I need to change a lane quickly and before I can even signal for the turn signal and so wanted to turn it off. Tried everything from the LDA menu on the speedometer but nothing seems to turn if off.
Any ideas ?

There is a LDA button on the steering wheel (arrow). You can turn off the alert by pressing this button.

LKA Ava LDA
Hello,
I noticed in the Lexus brochure for 2018 that LKA is a feature... but I cannot find the settings ANYWHERE. I found the LDA settings, but that doesn’t help steer while on the highway when using radar cruise control. Does anyone know how to activate it? Or does anyone else have a 2018 nx300 to see if they got it working?? Thanks!
