I'm always up for guessing

The Rav 4 tops out at around ~$33k. I'd say this starts at a base around $40k and options up to around $50k

i think those others are all 3 row so not really comparable, but yes, RX pricing is relatively cheap, but i also think the interior now looks 'relatively cheap' too.

doesn't matter what it's based on, it's gonna be cheaper.

X3 28i is $58k with all the equipment thats already visible in top end NX, with some missing.
I dont expect Lexus to undercut BMW by $15k.

Makes sense as a loaded CT200 is over $42K. list

Still tough going over $45K for a loaded NX.

just because they share the platform, i doubt it... CT200h shares more with Corolla and yet it is not cheap. A3 shares platform with cheap Skoda's, and it is not cheap.

Maybe if they slapped Lexus logo on Rav4, added more leather to the Rav4 interior, then it would likely be cheaper. This way, car is very different and built to be expensive.

What I was really trying to ask is: Toyota can price it lower because it cost them less to make since they already have the Rav4 platform to built it on?

The NX has to be $10K less than a comparably equipped RX.
i wouldnt be surprised if 2.0t Luxury was something like 45k FWD, then $2k for AWD, then $3k for tech package, etc, etc, and arrive $5k under X3 with similar equipment.

platform was probably built for both then two cars made on it.... probably few more that we dont understand right now.

Toyota's new platform in 2015 will span 30 vehicles :-)

In other words, pricing is based on market conditions, not actual cost to build.

I feel that's too much...
$45K and under and it sells well.
Over say $45K is a number only BMW/Benz and maybe Audi can get away with a vehicle in that size class..

The NX will certainly appeal to female buyers because of this: look how cute it is!

The NX will certainly also appeal to male buyers because of this: look how masculine and aggressive it is!

Also the RX really does look more feminine now, thank goodness it already has a spindle which made it more aggressive. With the reveal of the NX, anyone else getting excited that the 2016 RX is going to take this new formula and run with it

you are talking loaded? There is no way X3 will be $58k and NX be $45k.

Unless they dont give you all the options like before with IS/GS, so you might be able to get "loaded" for $45k.

Then people will complain why dont they have all the cool stuff like Europe and Japan :-).

Any NX $50K sticker prices will be discounted to $45K after a couple of months.A tough sell at $50K.
All I'd really want is HUD.I can live without adaptive cruise.

Currently, but the RX is definitely going to move up in price in the next iteration since it won't have to be a tweener anymore

But we're talking MSRPs so no one should be paying that. I"ll revise to starting in the upper 30s but I don't see it starting south of $35k

well, it all depends on what loaded means...

We see that European and US models are pictured with different equipment. So quite likey US might not get all the options in all the models.

Things like adaptive cruse, pre-crash, panoramic cameras, seat cooling, electric back seats, hud, dont seem to be on US pics... maybe thats not on purpose. But maybe they know how much people want to pay for "loaded".

Personally, I am with you... i want to get minimal options with leather and hud... rest I dont care about. I have a feeling that base model will still look good.

I asked again, and I was given the same answer as I got in January

Base NX FWD $35K, AWD $37K. Nicely equipped low to mid $40K. Hybrid still brushes $50K
