NJ State Inspection with Catback Exhaust?
Hello,
My 2008 IS-F is due for inspection. I have a ISS Forged "race" catback exhaust on it. Has anyone here gone through state inspection with a catback exhaust and passed? I still have the stock exhaust and could put it on if necessary but if I don't have to, I'd rather not. Thanks in advance for the help.

if you're not throwing any codes or CEL's and the car is in ready mode, you'll be fine. you have an 08 so they'll just plug into your obd2 port and check to make sure you have no codes.
my buddy just passed his modded 996 porsche turbo with no cats...full straight through exhaust. no codes and the car was in ready mode... he went to an official state inspection station too.
if you're throwing codes or have a CEL...that's another story.

I finally got the car inspected today. Initially, I was trying to get it inspected before closing and moving into my new house but ran out of time. I now live in Cherry Hill, NJ so I went to the inspection station in Cherry Hill. They have in ground cameras and explicitly look for cats. The person who was bringing my car through the inspection was asked to check twice so they ended up going past the camera, reversed over it, then drove passed it again. Fortunately, I had a resonator from an E63 installed because I wanted to help tame the loud exhaust (it is still mighty loud). The resonator has a heat shield over and appeared to be a cat. Yes, I was fortunate. Next time I may put the OEM exhaust back on.
