Powder Coating?

I like the first one Matt. My friend recommended this place for coating, but I never have a need from them. Check it out.

I had them do 2 of my bikes. This guy really loves car mods and that sort of things and really takes pride in his work. very good quality.
I agree with JDOG too. been kind of waiting the black rim thing out. I've never been much a fan. It always looked cheap to me. It's also the fact you see a lot of amateur hour people doing it. Like they do it to their stock rims and it just doesn't look right. looks cheap and dirty. I think the only time I have liked was on more 4x4 looking vehicles. To each his own though. Just remember spinners and daytons were cool at one point also..

All my powdercoating has been through Michael at Specialized Performance Coatings over in Arlington http://www.spcoating.com
His turnaround time is about a week or so and the work is top notch. I had all of my visible engine parts ceramic chrome coated. He will cut you a deal the more stuff you do. Only thing is that powdercoat shops will only coat stuff. They won't disassemble a multipiece rim for you and put it back after coating. It's WAY too much liability for them becase often times the fasteners are stretched and fatigue after a single use. They may need to be replaced after disassembly. Even then wheel manufacturers don't give you torque specs for what to torque the hardware down to!
If the rim is a single piece or doesn't have to be disassembled for coating then you're ok.

Thanks guys. I called up ace powder coating and he gave me a price of $67 per wheel, that is sandblasted and powder coated. that seems pretty good to me. Jeff my wheels are 1 piece so I am fine there, plus I still have my stockers so I can roll on them for a while. I was paying close attention when I drive recently and I noticed there are a lot more all black with polished lip than I ever thought. Some look ok, but most look cheap and make the rim look a lot smaller.
I have always loved the look of this car:
Plus I am going to get my roof vinyl black as well. It just looks more track ready than show.
