NYC Pothole wheel damage reimbursement
Hey Guys,
After years of being lucky, I bent my Fsport wheel on my GS this morning. I am in the process of filing a claim with NYC Comptrollers Office.
Has anyone actually gotten reimbursed for the incurred expenses from wheel repair cause my NYC pothole damage?
Im just wondering if this claim will just be filed away never to be heard from again.
Thanks,
Rich

i tried fighting for over a year, i gave up. new york and the new york city is the dirtiest city/state i have ever lived in with the most ineffective government system despite the huge taxes i've ever lived in - compared to texas, chicago, and florida. i am defiantly moving in a few years.

Ive filed a claim back in The 1st week of april for them towing my car improperly and messing up my rear Differential ( This Car was an AWD) and am still in the process of disputing the case, They have sent a couple letters back to say they are investigating but i really wonder how that will go.
Comptrollers office is 212-669-3287
Person to speak to - Thomas Orawiec
Time in office - 10am, or 3pm. Its usualy when he picks up the phone
I suggest you bother the **** Out of him, I call him every week to get updates on my report since you know how lazy government officials in NYC are.
Hope this helped. Good luck

Currently in the same situation. The only difference is that my wheel + tire damage was due to poorly secured debris from the construction that landed on the highway.
I don't have a police report or anything... But for the OP if you get this, did you ever get reimbursed? I remember about 4 years ago, I blew out my front tire from a huge pot hole.. I sent in visual evidence and everything, yet my claim was denied. I really doubt I'll get anything this time, but it doesn't hurt to try.

You guys should do like I do and have some sort of dashcam. I use my GoPro. After several cars ran stop signs, cut me off, etc... EVEN including police officers, I use it now virtually everytime I drive. You can always say anything, it can be the truth or bunch of lies. But videos do not lie.
And the state do not reimburse anything to anyone. You can probably win a lawsuit if you hit a pothole that caused you your life and/ or someone elses after they investigated that it WAS A POTHOLE or whatever. Other than that, they'll leave it for a while before repairing it [just enough so it opens up again].
