Default where to get speedometer calibration in MD¿¿¿

i thought it would be easy to find a shop to do speedometer calibration but after calling about 12 different shops and stores no help. i've asked shops, who said to call the dealership, lex of annapolis said to call the police dept or mva who were no help either.

i searched in google and found about 2 places in nova that according to a website can do it but i was just wondering if anyone has actually had this done in the D.M.V area and where?? thanks,

BTW i put on smaller overall diameter wheel & tire combo and according to tire calculators it is throwing off the speed + odometer by 4.67% so when i would normally want to go 80 mph now i have to go 83.92 mph. also the mileage is accruing much faster than is accurate.

also a cool calculator to figure out the differences if you have changed tire sizes http://home.netcom.com/~sgalaba/tiresize.htm

spoke with safety check they referred me to toyota trd, called toyota trd they told me the individual at the lex dealership was smoking crack and that the dealership should be able to help out and to ask for the service manager which i did and am awaiting a return call from the service manager now... hmmm....

i gave out my new google voice phone number so hopefully if they call that 1 # it will ring all my phones at once so i will never miss an important call as long as i am near 1 of my phones.

i just spoke with the head service guy at lexus of annapolis (i don't know why i continuously mess with them) he said it is not possible... wtf man. he said i'm the first person to ever ask and its not possible. i say his ability to solve a problem outside the box is not possible.

have you looked into getting the yellowbox? i believe it just splices into your speedo signal.
expensive but gets the job done.

also, you may want to measure your speed using gps or something in relation to your speedometer. that calculator does not take consider the width of the rim, so if you have a stretch it may not be that far off ( if you stretch a 45 series sidewall, its more like a 40 or 35 for that calculator).

May want to give a shout to brad over at Lindsay Lexus. He is a service writer and fellow CL member here and may be able to help. He is not local (Alexandria) but anyone from CL, he makes sure to take EXTRA effort to make sure our cars are taken care of. Also you may want to drop a PM to KIPOD or Greenvy2k who work at Lexus Rockville. They are some very valable resources if you need to go the dealer route. If you need their #'s PM me.

well seeing as how i have no leads i am open to anything so i'll prolly be contacting you guys for more numbers here shortly ^ ^ ^.

also the yellow box route guy earlier told me that it would throw a bunch of codes on my heads up display thing or whatever but this sorta deterred me away from this option plus the price would be what a set of the identical diameter rear tires would cost.

i don't have a stretch but using the tire 1010 calculator figured that the stock 225 55 17's are the an almost identical size to 2xx 40 19's and i have 2xx 30 19's rear right now so if i get the 40 size side wall it will be basically same as stock size but all sources are pointing towards a 35 series sidewall size which wouldn't be to far off stock, say 2.3% instead of 4.6%

i don't mind the speedo being off its the additional accrual of miles that really has me pissed.i drive about 450-500 miles a week as it is i don't need any additional miles (especially ones that i didn't even technically drive) show up on my odo. i could always try to explain to the person who buys my car from me whenever i decide to sell it that i had smaller than stock size tires on and that some of the miles registered aren't for reals but i don't know how far that would actually get me.
