maybe if I was to install a new audio system...i believe ridding the car of the stock amp will cause other things to stop working?

Call Sewell Lexus, they have the ML Amps for $6XX with your old one and they give one year warranty..They're refurbished but IMO, it's better than paying $1600 for a new one. Tell them you're with Club Lexus..

Every Lexus dealer offers an audio exchange program through Lexus. The challenge to the dealer in this case, is ensuring the old unit (the core) is received before Lexus charges the $1500 fee for not returning the old unit in the allotted time. With this, you may find many dealers do not offer this program to customers abroad.

With us, since we do have such a close following with CL, I can say we've never encountered an issue with not receiving the old unit back - thus we don't charge a core charge and/or the price of the new unit up front.

The price to CL members for this particular amp is $570 (based on amp number 86280-0W041 ML for the LS430), plus the appropriate TO shipping and the From shipping for the old unit back to us.
