93 ES300
A/C Blows air like normal but,
A/C air temperature doesn't change when you turn on or off the "A/C" button.
No lights are blinking on the A/C unit like others have seen.
Hey everyone.
I noticed today that the air conditioner is not blowing cold air. I've searched, but still have some questions.
There is no information in my owners manual on what type of coolant is in the car. Anyone know if it is definitely the old freon?
What exactly am I looking for when I peek into the little glass window? If there are bubbles, are they easy to see? What does this tell you anyway?
What is the best route of trouble shooting that I should begin with?
Thanks!

Some added info,
Just tried the a/c again, now it is completely normal (ie cold)
and
The window is white. A bunch of little white bubbles.
What the heck?

when AC expansion valves start to go, it will be cold one day, hot the next......not consistent.
That is a possibility.
I had a condenser go once, then it always blew warm air. That was about $1200. That also started with the system not being able to handle a charge. It was a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi. The refrigerant was R12 (environmentally bad stuff). I do not know when manufacturers started to switch to the refrigerant R134 (environmentally better stuff). Mid 902 I believe.
When in doubt, take it to an AC specialty shop, or Toyota/Lexus service.
If it makes you feel better, right now it is snowing in Boston in April.
No one here is thinking about AC in there cars.
good luck.
