Smell of gas when changing oil
So as I was changing my oil on my 2013 IS250 and pulled out the oil filter there was a very strong smell of gas as the oil came out. I have no idea why or what it could be causing this. It has 15k and runs great. One idea that I do notice is that I barely get 20 mpg and I don't floor it. I'm thinking about going to the dealer sinces its under warranty but I just what to have an idea of what it could be.

Take it to the dealer. On older cars, a malfunctioning fuel pressure regulator can cause excess fuel dump, on a newer car, it can be a sign of fuel injector probs, injector pulse timing faults, etc. Really needs a computer diagnosis. Oh, and its almost never the fuel pump

if you do a lot of short trips , this will happen. Oil dilution by blowby. Most cars its because the pistons haven't had time to expand and that the ecu typically will run your car rich until coolant temp reaches operating temperature.
