Question Timing adjustment

Does anyone know how to adjust the timing on a 92 ls400. i have just put on a new timing belt and when i did a timing check it was advanced to far. the manual mentions of taking some bolts loose on the distributor but i cant find them. Please help me if you can, thanks, barry

There is no adjustment for the timing on the 92 LS400. Try finding the diagnostic connector mounted on top of the intake. Open the cap and ground TE and E1 together. Then look at the timing on the flywheel. Should be ok then.

92lexus: did you do the timing belt yourself? How did you get that nut off that holds the crank pulley on?

Default timing belt

frankinaustin- to get the nut off you must go under the car where the flywheel is and keep it from moving while you try and loosen the nut . my dad is an expert on lexus so ill check with him on how exactly he did loosen the nut. I was just there helping him.

Default thanks

That's an excellent idea. Is there a dust cover or something that I can loosen to get access to the flywheel?
