TCS warning light
Hi everyone,
Great Club!
Didn't have much luck with the search feature so here it is:
1991 Lexus LS400, 54,000 miles.
recently the TCS warning light comes on whenever the engine is running, simultaneously with this problem the "check engine" light came on.
Problem had disappeared for a short while once, after very strong aceleration.
At that time both the TCS warning light and the check engine light came off again.
When the car is about to be started and the key position is advanced to "run" (not "start"):
All lights in dash will light up and then the lights that are supposed to disappear will do so, including the "TCS warning" lamp and the "check engine" light.
Still keeping it in run position (but not actually running) I can switch the TCS off and the light will appear and disappear when the TCS is swittched back on just like its supposed to when running).
But when I then start the eninge and it runs, the "TCS warning "light will come on as does the "check engine"
Any insights from the resident Gurus and other members?
Thank you very much in advance fellas,
Fred....

It seems like your traction control is being disabled automatically due to a problem somewhere.
I had the exact same problem with my 99 GS300.
The fix was the TPS needed to be replaced.
