Below is a list of terms you may see used in our maintenance forum from time to time.


Terms and Abbreviations
-FWD: Front-Wheel-Drive

-RWD: Rear Wheel Drive

-Trans: Transmission or Transaxle.

-T-Case: Transfer Case

-Rad: Radiator

-TB: Timing Belt

-WP: Water Pump

-Engine Config: Number of cylinder's and the shape of the engine ("I" for Inline, "V" for V shaped , "H" for Horizontally opposed; usually only in reference to porsche or subaru engines) I.E. V-8, I-6, H-4.

-2WD: Two-Wheel-Drive

-4WD: 4-Wheel-Drive

-AWD: All-Wheel-Drive

-HP: Horsepower

-TQ: Torque

-HG: Head Gasket

-BHG: Blown Head Gasket

-VVT: Variable Valve Timing

-VVT-i: Variable Valve Timing w/ intelligence
