I use dri-wash right over dirt and works like nothing I have seen. I have used this since 1994 and works great. Using it one my last truck which was showroom cond, GSX-R1100w, my ES. I detail cars on the side when time permits. I have to many people asking but to little time.
#1 In case of scrathes you could due either one. Get a buffer and try to take them out. This works if not to deep and down to base coat/primer. Be carfeull not to buff of the paint. This is one problem using waxes. My stuff does not burn. Try to stay around 1800 rpm's.
#2 You could also try getting a damn cloth and rub using [b] light [/]b hand pressure with light rubbing compound.
#3 wet sand but I would not suggest this

It is common on black cars. It is called cobwebbing. There are several companies that have special waxes used just for this purpose but, the down-side is that, it will take off a portion of your paint and/or claearcoat. I have never tried this stuff but, it is only a suggestion. All the big names wax companies have it like, Meguiars, Mothers, etc.

3M Imperial Hand Glaze
I've used 3M's Imperial Hand Glaze on my black GS with great results for small scratches.
